Who We Are

A Community Dedicated to Estonian Heritage and Culture

Founded in 1948, the Vancouver Estonian Society connects the Estonian community through events, resources, and preservation of traditions. We are committed to promoting and supporting Estonian cultural activities including folk dancing, music, and arts, and the learning of Estonian language and history.

Founded on November 6, 1948, we find great importance in carrying on the traditions that our founding members established in Vancouver over 75 years ago.

We are a member-funded not-for-profit organization that is supported through annual membership fees. These funds, along with donations, are used to support our initiatives.

Voted in at our Annual General Meeting in February of each year, these dedicated volunteers manage VES projects, events, and the maintenance of Mäeotsa.
